I am Professor of Economics at the University of Oldenburg, where I hold the Chair of Applied Microeconomics. My work sits at the intersection of Industrial Organization and Environmental & Energy Economics.

I am particularly interested in how economic agents respond to regulation, taxation, and ownership structure in market with environmental-relevant and energy-intensive choices. These are questions with direct implications for climate policy and competition law.

I am co-organizer of the Economics of Low-Carbon Markets (LCM) Workshop, running since 2013.
